Sweet Regalia is a small house on College Avenue in Berkeley, filled with things made by hand in Italy. We opened it for one reason: the best gifts are objects somebody cared about making.
What you will find inside
The collection moves across six areas, and each one is chosen piece by piece.
• Art and objects: paintings, mosaics, sculptures, and Italian Art Deco posters.
• Jewelry: pieces in metal, leather, glass, ceramic, fabric, and paper.
• Paper and greetings: greeting cards and bookmarks.
• Accessories: brooches that finish a lapel or a scarf.
• Confectionery: fine Italian sweets, made to be shared.
• Scent and home: soap bar creations and home diffusers.
Why Italy
Italy still has workshops where a craft is handed from one generation to the next. The makers we work with come from regions known for that heritage, and their pieces carry it. You can see the hand in a brushstroke, a cut of glass, or the fold of a paper bead.
Each piece is selected with care from these artists and studios. That means a piece in our shop has a name and a story behind it, and we are happy to tell it.

We think of Sweet Regalia as part gallery, part gift house. You are welcome to walk in simply to look. If you are searching for a present, tell us about the person and we will help you find the right object. Our line for this is simple: objects of quiet consequence. They do not shout.
